  • Thanks.  Just another example, apparently, where Herd Zone is either behind, or wrong, in the info it puts out.
Herd Zone is a pathetic site (at least IMO)

  • Guys, Danny has got the guys he wanted or else felt satisfied they would fit our system, and needs, for 2023-24.  Roster apparently set for the upcoming season, absent another possible defection or departure and perhaps another addition (Tanner Holden?).   So whatever occurs in 2023-2424 it is all on Danny, Corny, Cline, et. al.  Time to end the second guessing and get behind the team for the season ahead!!  GO HERD!!!!!!!!!!!

This is where I am at, I guess. I just have to accept this is how it is concerning the roster.

I will donate money to the tip off club. I will buy season tickets even though I rarely use them for myself and end up giving them away to people I know. But this may very well be the last year I do this if things crumble this season & excuses start rolling out. I really don't want to listen to a bunch of nonsense when we had a clear opportunity in early March to start re-defining the roster. I may then turn to giving my financial support to women's basketball or softball since they seem to maximize the roster spots and use the portal to strengthen the entire roster. Those aren't sports that I have a strong interest in, but at the same time, I want to help teams & coaches that are go-getters.

I hope we win a conference championship of some sort this upcoming season in men's basketball. But I have my doubts that we did enough to get us to that level. Let's see who is right. I hope I am proven wrong.

I remember a time when we played quality teams. Fresh in my mind when we were ranked 8th in the country. That?s when my dad started taking me to games. The MMI had St John?s playing Marshall in the finals. And of course marshall won that game.It was electric. I think at this time ,Danny will coast. He doesn?t need the money and and i think any fire he had for winning and being successful went out the window long ago.

  • 1971-72 was a world away.  Money rules now, and unless a school has unlimited resources (i.e. the football "Power 5") or focus their energies on basketball (i.e. the Big East, Gonzaga, etc.) its VERY difficult to compete and almost impossible to schedule those teams into a home/home.

Impossible?  No, but difficult.  And very, very few sustain their successes at our level (see Western KY, Middle Tennessee, Davidson, George Mason, for instance)

We could certianly try to do 1-1 with the schools you mentioned. Add Dayton, VCU, Butler and a few others to the list. No reason NOT to play those type programs, home or away.

I doubt we could do 1-1s with those three schools at this point.

Very true ! But it was so much fun to watch. Money, the root of all evil. Money doesn?t talk, it swears

Whether true or not, this thinking is a sure fire way of losing the fanbase. If the fanbase is expected to just accept mediocre and best we can do then look out below. It seems the basketball program is getting very comfy with that thinking.

You may be correct. Would be nice to make an attempt. Maybe we have. I think we can certainly compete with them.

  • We are not going to lose the fan base.  Second in attendance in the league.  Your crystal ball got fogged.

So are you when you say it WONT!! Better get some talent in here or future years are looking beyond bad. And I'm waiting to see how he replaces Andrew. Everyone knows Jon fell in his lap thru Greg White and Andrew came along at the right time. Hopefully he will get a great replacement but I don't have faith he can. Time will tell and I hope I'm dead wrong about it.
