  • I know we stole the We Are...Marshall chant from Penn State.  If you turn on the Penn State and Nebraska baseball game on ESPN2 you will notice that on  the front of their jerseys in big bold letters is We Are and on the back of their jerseys is Penn State. I like the look.

  • Per Wikipedia? Sons of Marshall was written by Marshall alum Richard A Williams age 28 in 1935.    First line.. We are the sons of Marshall.

  • When was the first time that the We Are Marshall chant was used at a Marshall sporting event?

    The first time I heard it was during the 1987 1AA first round playoff game versus James Madison. That was our first playoff game and the atmosphere was electric that day.

    Anybody remember a time earlier than this date?

    Yes, at Fairfield Stadium.
