  • Is it me, or does Landon seem uber critical of most things MU these days; and very pro WVU, more than ever?

  • I lost interest in Landon several years ago.  I just don't care for his style of writing.  Most of his writing is opinion with little or no substance to back it up.  Amazing he is still employed as a sports writer.

For people that buy a subscription to the Herald Dispatch only for the sports section their subscription money would be better spent joining the team club of their choice (QB Club, Tip Off Club, Soccer Club, or etc.), Big Green, or attending fundraising events.  Those people would get more MU sports information than what the local newspapers put out.  Watch the 6:00 news, read free articles online, and join HerdFans would provide more information than the local newspapers.  Landon's articles are a waste of time, energy, and ink.

Welcome home coach Zerkle and bring home the gold.

I was attending MU when Landon was writing for The Parthenon. He was always trying to create drama with his columns. Some things never change.

  • It will be interesting to see if she recruits towards the quick, base stealing game that Marshall played when she was the star.

Morgan recruited a girl from LCHS that is mix of speed and power, like her. That recruit committed to Miami. I?m waiting to see if she?ll switch to Marshall now.

If Morgan recruits smaller, quicker players, she has all she needs from this area. I?m not sure the average fan realizes home much softball talent is in Marshall?s backyard.

Miami OH was also top 5 in nation in home runs in addition to going to NCAA's last three seasons.  They hosted what is now 3x Natl Champ Oklahoma in 2022 I believe. Miami schedules strong. Go through her twitter and you'll see you talks alot about the value of going to a mid major vs a big school where you can easily get lost and not develop because they always recruit over you and are not as interested in developing you. So she has a message that should resonate with recruits.  On top of that, players from upper midwest can play in multiple bid SBC where most conf games played in south vs Big Ten, MAC, etc. brrrr

Well, Chuckie is now a "H-D Media Columnist" meaning that he writes for BOTH the papers, Huntington and Charleston.  Covers WVU sports about 50-50 along with MU.  Use to be the two cities papers had 3 or four columnists who wrote several columns a week each.  Salvatore, Brown, Rorrer, etc., etc., in H-town, Smith, Hardman, Wells, etc., etc., in Charleston.  Charleston papers usually had one columnist for MU sports, one for WVU, a "general" columnist for sports, and maybe an "outdoors" columnist.  Huntington about the same, more or less.  Today, it's the "CHUCKster"!!

Sad thing is, a lot of the better ones head out of the area. I hope she can keep more of those kids at home.

  • Is herdfans.com having issues with their site? I can't view the various topics like I always have in the past. This just changed Monday or Tuesday of this week.
