    Agreed.  Didn't think much of the other clown on the webcast, but Steele is well informed and very thoughtful..

    • Speaking of preseason picks. Does anyone remember when Sports Illustrated pick The Herd as a Top 20 preseason team in their issue when we moved up to 1-A?

    • Phil Steele was on the Paul Swann show 2-3 weeks ago.  Steele has a long relationship with covering Marshall and is very familiar and well informed.  Steele personally contacts about 90% of all D1 coaches and meets with many of them in person.  He attempts to contact every coach but some don't release information.  Steele contacted every G5 coach this year.  Steele also has the most accurate roster information of all the college publications

    That was disappointing to hear.  We all knew it would be hard to field another top 5 defense, but that's not where I expected us to take a hit.
