  • I was a Doc fan and still believe he was an above average coach as his record indicates.  That being said, the program had grown stale and needed a new voice.  Don't k ow how the season will go but I love how Huff has gotten Byron and others to embrace the program and the fact he works hard year round recruiting.

We needed Huff and he seems to get better and embrace MU more each year.

  • Herd Visits the 75. Nice comments from Coach Huff on the connection between the team and community.

  • It does seem like Huff has embraced the town more and more. His wife is heavily involved with St Joe. They've had one child while here and another on the way. I love the culture he has established, less player issues, and certainly much less off the field crap than we had before. I hope he is hugely successful.

He faces a tough schedule in 2023. The toughest in a decade or so.

  • Kind of related, all is fine and good in emotion land in Huntington, hope the same can be said for money land in Huntington; I sincerely worry about NIL's impact on MU sports in the near distance.  It takes so much, over and over and over again.  How will we keep this thing going; it won't be the coach or the "nice to have you in town", or even the celebration of the 75.  Show Me The Money; will we have it. That's up to all of us, and others of course.  We will get, very soon, only what we are willing to pay for.  Sad day for college sports, IMHO.  I'd rather have minor league pros outside of college, than inside of college.

  • it's imperative that we start winning championships, again, NOW.  as in yesterday.  3rd place finishes/7-8 win seasons in FB & 1st/2nd-round SBC tournament exits in BB aren't gonna get it done.  people aren't gonna give what we need if we're getting pushed around the field/court by MACs, TX St, GA St, ULM, ODU, etc. of the world.
