  • Question on NIL

Does anyone know how we compare in term of how large out NIL collective is?
How we compare to our peers in the SBC?
    Does such data exist anywhere?

    Thanks!

  • No such numbers really exist,  at least not that I've ever found. And much of what I have seen online is way wrong.   So good luck getting good answers.

I would say this won't be answered, it's all private donations with personal financial conditions involved for the donors, perhaps if someone requested via a "right to know" claim, or whatever those are.  But there are several organizations within each school, and direct contracts between players, people hiring them for their NIL, etc.

They,  and others, do.  In the few cases I personally know the real amounts, they aren't even close,  being WAY under the actual income in most cases.

  • NIL is basically an "open season, anything goes slush fund" for college athletes run by, apparently, under the table, clandestine entities not "officially" connected to their respective college athletics departments.  Hence, little real boundaries, rules, etc., and thus giving Administration officials, Presidents, Athletic Directors, even the NCAA leadership, etc., the ultimate "alibi":  The Sergeant Schultz "I see nothing, I hear nothing, . . ." Excuse!!

  • If players are going to lash out at us, they need to disclose their total NIL receipts.  Then we can judge their performance.  The day when I said they are just kids is over.  They wanted the NIL.  That evaporated the myth that they were just kids.  I respect Owen Porter, but his attack on us makes me look back at all who received NIL.

No fans nor you deserve to know the money these kids are making for NIL. I know if someone weren?t happy with you at your job, you wouldn?t disclose to them your salary (maybe you would but you get the point). Their business is their business. We as fans think we are entitled to too much.

I would think just knowing number of donors would be general knowledge. As long as it doesn't dive into specific donations and private information of course. Same as knowing the number of BG members. Jmo
