  • We need to beat app st to have a shot. Lose that game and we have to win 2 of last 3 and that isn't likely. I would put our chances of being 6-6 at about 35/75 against.

    - Huff will not be fired no matter what the finish. You don't hire a first time HC in FB and fire after 3 seasons. He has at least 2 if not 3 more years to get it right. Not saying I agree but believe that is the likely scenario. My question is who was last big program assistant that we hired with an offensive backgound who knew X and O's?  Wasn't it Jim Donnan? Last two hires were never even coordinators but both known more for recruiting prowess. But neither have shown the ability to upgrade recruiting here.  Heck Tyson Baggert in starting in NFL but not good enough for Marshall? Guys like Brohm, Kiffin, etc have dominated the leagues we've been in but we choose non X and O guys in a league where resources and talent have great parity.

    - DD will never be let go. His connections to city, school, and program make him untouchable imo. He would have to resign

Government is the most dangerous institution known to man. Throughout history it has violated the rights of men more than any individual or group of individuals could do: it has killed people, enslaved them, sent them to forced labor and concentration camps, and regularly robbed and pillaged them of the fruits of their expended labor. ~ JOHN HOSPERS

Good post. I'd like to move on from Huff but as you pointed out, doubt that happens. He does need to bring in new OC and DC I think, or next year could be worse. jmo

I pretty much think along the same lines.  However this board wants blood and nothing else will suffice, lol.  If he leaves it will be voluntary.  It's far too aggressive to fire a coach after one below average/average season.

A better plan might be to go get him some offensive coaching help.  Get a guy that could be a head coach and waiting type guy on offense.

  • I'm not even sure what point you're trying to make now.

Most of the job of a college head coach is recruiting talent, and that's what he's done for Colorado. He also took a Jackson State team that had been going 3-8 and 4-7 for several years and went 23-3 in his two years there.

Recruiting good assistant coaches is important too. Deion got one of the best young offensive minds in the game to leave his head coaching position at Kent State to come be his OC.

That's the area Huff has failed at the most imo. Trickett, Legg, and Semore have mostly been disasters.

He hasn?t recruited anyone ! He brought his son with him.
Did he recruit any players on the D-line.. the O-line?? They are not good. This will end in a dumpster fire.

Currently 29th in 247 recruiting rankings. 64th the year before he got there.

Nobody's claiming they're CFP good, but he's already performed two massive turnarounds in his two college jobs.
