We are bad all the way around. The offense and defense both. The schemes are bad and the play calling is bad. We have some very talented players that are not being coached up and our coaching staff refuses to make changes. We are not maximizing the talent we have and obviously not evaluating talent closely enough or fairly. I want every single coach that is at Marshall to succeed. Period. But, when they don't and are in over their heads, a change must be made. It is not fair to the players they are coaching. Doesn't matter what sport it is.
Let's be real. The defense played well enough, but the offense has to be able to string together a few drives to help them out.The stinking, rotting elephant in the room is on offense. Apparently there's not a QB on the roster. There's one HR threat. Offense is difficult. It approaches impossible when there's a lack of talent. The downfall isn't on the coaching side, it's the roster. There's not enough good offensive players, starting with the QB room. That IS Huff's responsibilty. That's on the staff and coaching. They've had three years to get the right personnel in place and haven't. The portal speeds up that process. So everything IS on this staff, players, development and scheme; or lack thereof.
stunned that we are at or near the bottom of a 14 team SBC. coaching and recruiting capability has proven false.thank goodness that is in year 3 of a 4 yr contract.it's likely to be rough for at least 2 or 3 years to come.for 20 yrs or so, we just can't sustain anything in football, can't catch a break. this can't last forever folks, but it's depressing as hell.what is Marshall leadership going to do to turn this around?
Actually it can happen forever but let's hope it doesn't. Why we ever got away from a high powered offense after Pruett left is beyond me. We started that with Stan Parrish and continued it all the way thru Pruett. Since, except for a couple Cato years, we have been pathetic on offense. The next hire needs to be an offensive mind that is wide open. We have lost our identity.
