You do realize this is not an official MSU release, right? Just some columnist speculating just like they did when he was listed as their top candidate. I'm not sure he was ever really high up on their radar but I know as much about it as this writer.

I don't know a school in the nation that has a journalist speculating about the hiring of a new head football coach.  Those type of situations are done behind closed doors and usually kept very tight lipped.
