  • Any opposing coach that is halfway competent can easily scheme against Danny's switching defense.
Step 1: have the player Curfmans guarding bring the ball up the floor.
Step 2: have your center come to top of the and key pretend that he is going to set a pick. Curfman and Martin will switch men they are guarding creating two mismatches.
Step 3: have the center roll to the basket.
Step 4: have the center post-up Curfman.
Step: 5 throw the center the ball.
Step 6: the center lays it in for an easy basket and a possible and-1 if another player comes over late to try to help.
    Step 7: Rinse and repeat.

Watched the entire women's game and three minutes of the men game yesterday.  One thing that stood out in that three-minute cartoon short was Curfman getting pushed around like a wet mop.  I swear I've seen fallen leaves in a stiff wind put up more resistance than Curfman did.  Felt sorry for the kid, but there is no excuse for DD depending on such a one dimensional player.  Curfman can hit threes when he's on, which isn't consistent, but he does consistently give up baskets.

But this genius defensive scheme worked at Socastee High School.  So that means it should work everywhere 😂.  It's time for someone to unplug the Human Roomba we have roaming the sidelines.  It's embarrassing that this is who we have leading our program.

But let's fill up that arena and watch the newfound enthusiasm from our bench players ;-)

    Was that Sarcastee HS ?

Actually, I thought Curfman played really well ... on offense. Especially with what little help he had.

Did it?  Did it really?  How many state championships did they win?

Puttng on a big tournament that showcased other championship teams is hardly a coaching accomplishment.  It's a promotional accomplishment, but doesn't reflect all that well on one's coaching ability.

  • once again coach reiterarates the conference tournament but there are still plenty of games remaining in the reg season.
how can a team develop fully, gain any sustainable confidence if OOC and regular season games don't fully matter to a coach?
even if he is technically correct and vocalizes the only remaining goal, DD continues to send the same and wrong message/s

This! Danny would be a great Big Green Director ( I'll admit I am not a fan of Southerland), but he is not a good coach (average at best). With that said look how much money he and his family has helped raise for Marshall from the IPF to Charter flights. Heck, Kim Caldwell even praised Kathy for her efforts regarding the Education day.

The point is the D'Antoni family have been huge supporters of Marshall, but Danny is putting a blemish on it. If he would quit being so stubborn, resign take a roll that he is good at (Public Relations), everybody would win. However, he will continue to hold the school hostage which continues to put his family and leadership in an uncomfortable situation of standing up for him.
