Topic: Sun belt is the last conference to have divisions (East & West)

What is the reasoning that we haven?t followed the national trend of eliminating 2 divisions?

We are a pro league, so we have pro divisions.

Seriously, I hope we keep them. I like playing teams in our time zone every year.

Everyone else except the MAC is spread out all over the place.  We have tight geographical divisions that work.  The SBC is betting on fan football with rivalries and games people count on every years.  Other conferences bet on marketz. 

The other conferences do this so that they can put their best two teams in the CCG to have the best chance of making the playoffs.  If we consistently end up with a 7-5 team winning one of the divisions and the CCG, we may have to change it up but so far that hasn't been the case and JMU hasn't even been eligible with a really good record both years.

If we ever change I'd look for the divisions to unofficially remain. Where we still play everyone in the East but we could have a rematch with App State in the championship if we had the best conference records.
