That's probably about right. In the unlikely event that somehow Huff remains, the extension deal would be announced about Monday afternoon.
If it isn't done before the game, I would highly doubt that it happens at all. I feel like we're at a point where it's 99% sure he's gone.
If we're extending CH, why would we wait until after the game to announce it? That doesn't make any sense.
Because it wouldn't be announced until all the details are ironed out and the ink is dry on the documents. I don't really expect that Huff in fact will end up here by Monday-ish, but if Huff is truly engrossed in game prep, he wouldn't want to be distracted.
I'm thinking the opposite. All of this talk of him leaving has been an enormous distraction. If he was staying, the extension would have been announced soon after the JMU game. He's gone.
This is turning into amateur comedy hour. I can?t believe some people actually liked that post.
✔ Friday (12/6) - Announcement times (for the next 4 days) will be finalized by the end of the day internally (by Marshall, Southern Miss, & Huff). No official news will be made public today or Saturday.✔ Saturday (12/7) - DEAD PERIOD. The focus will be on the Championship game. IF Huff is asked about his job in the press conference AFTER the game he will deny all rumors and basically have no comment.✔ Sunday (12/8) - Between the hours of 10am - 3pm an announcement will be made that Charles Huff is leaving Marshall. No further information will be available at that time. Some rumors may start to circulate on X that Southern Miss will make Huff their next HFB coach on Monday. https://twitter.com/Brett_McMurphy/status/1865755328559657423Monday (12/9) - Between the hours of 9am-Noon Southern Miss will officially announce that Charles Huff is their new coach. Introductory Press Conference will be scheduled between Noon-5pm in Hattiesburg. Now at this moment is when we will see if their is bad blood between Marshall and Huff...if Marshall waits to announce Tony Gibson on Tuesday (letting Huff have his moment) things weren't too bad. If they mirror Southern Miss' actions on Monday with Gibson...this will be a big FU to Huff...showing the world they had there guy before Huff was "officially" gone. Tuesday (12/10) - Between the hours of 9am-Noon Marshall will officially announce that Tony Gibson will be the next HFB coach. Introductory Press Conference will be scheduled between Noon-5pm in Huntington. If Marshall does all this Monday I think it will be a sign the brass at MU and Huff were at major odds.
