  • I've seen where the payout on the bowl will be $2.2 million. If true, does Marshall get the 2.2mm or as I've seen, SBC gets the money OR is there some sort of split? Maybe the funds could be used for NIL?

Could be wrong but I think all bowl money is pooled after expenses and shared with all teams in the conference. So even lowly USM gets a payout.

OK, if that's true, I would think that Marshall would get the lion's share of the proceeds. After all, it's because of Marshall's efforts that SBC is being represented at this high of a bowl game. Right?

I may be wrong but it gets distributed equally with Marshall getting 2 shares instead of one. I think!!!

    Yes.  That's the agreement.

  • There's usually not much left after receipts are turned in.  The agreement is really there to protect the participants from losing money.  I'm sure we turned a small profit being in 12 bowls last year and again with 8 this year.  But not enough to fund NIL and that can't come from the school, right now, anyway.
