Not really....I do want Snyder though...

The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club wont be worth a dime.

  • Snyder by a long shot. His stock has been steadily rising. LSU wanted him as their DC. He's the freakin DC at a storied institution. I know Florida is a great place to be too but Holliday is coaching safeties . I may be over simplifying this but in my hiring decisions I ALWAYS had better luck with rising stars as opposed to fallen ones. THE FACT THAT SNYDER HOLDS A HIGHER POSITION AMONG THE COACHING RANKS THAN HOLLIDAY DESPITE BEING LESS EXPERIENCED IS A REASON TO HIRE HIM (snyder).

Why didn't they hire him then - did they offer and he turned it down or did they offer it to someone else?

  • He was offered the job and turned it down according to the Columbus Dispatch. His reasoning was simply that he liked it where he was.

What about Holiday? Why did he leave NC State?

He was hired by Urban Meyer to be part of his staff. I would say because of his recruiting skills.

  • Wasn't he an Associate head coach at NC State though. Wouldn't coaching safeties be a step down. Of course being at UF is a step up from NC State. In my mind it seems like a demotion. Of course maybe that's just my perception. Again this is my original point. Snyder is a DC at a big time program while Holiday is a postion coach. Make no mistake about Florida is big time but he's not a coordinator and Snyder is. ALthough he hasn't been a Coordinator long he has made it that far, he did it faster than Holiday, and most importantly he wants to be head coach at Marshall. I think Holiday would like to be head coach but I doubt Marshall is his dream job.

Lets put it this way. The easiest way to judge who is ranking higher in the coaching ranks is to ask this. Do you think Snyder would leave Ohio State to be Safeties coach at UF. NO WAY! Would Holiday leave UF to be a D-Coordinator at OSU. IN A HEARTBEAT!

  • What I find funny is the Herdrumors poll,  just checked it today and someone else has as many voted as that guy at UF.  If Marcum hires that guy from UF and he is a total flop, what will become of the Marcum legacy knowing that easily the majority prefer Snyder, Kueck and Donnan with only a very small minoruty are interested in that other guy. Even Jerry Glanville has almost as much support.
