Ask me how many Marshall athletic dept. people are at the Chad bowling fundraiser right now? ZERO!! You want to know why because KO has p*$$ed off all the Marshall players that used to support the program and will not support the program financially until Marcum is gone!! I have been trying to tell you guys this forever but you continue to listen to a d@%n WVU fan instead.

Another reason why KO is a Maroon? Bartrum and Brown wanted to have their camp at Marshall stadium and give a portion (I believe a 3rd) of the proceeds to the Big Green. Guess who said no and wanted to CHARGE them to use the stadium? That's right MARCUM! The guy is a Maroon. By the way, he does not have the last decision for the coach to be picked and right now it is between Snyder and Holliday.

Now tell me how great Marcum is to the program.

Maybe this is why we can't get the big boy's to put forth money for the IPF.  It makes since.  Also, if Marcum hires the guy from uf, then we should start a fire Marcum now web site!

I know their have been 1 or 2 guy's who support that guy but the majority do not want him.  During this coaches search, most want Snyder followed closely by Donnan and Kueck, basically the people that really matter to the University do not want that guy.  

If he is hired, he will have very little support among the Faithful. Not a good start.  I am begining to think Marcum needs fired before he  :-?  things up.

What I say is true and came straight from the mouth from someone who was there.  If you watched the news you will have noticed not one Marshall dept. person there or interviewed.  Fishy to me.  Oh yeah, the person did tell me that Marcum showed up about 30 minutes before it was over and was trying to mingle with Chad and Byron but said they were not really talking with him.

That tells me they aren't interested in it.  I am telling you Marcum is going to be gone this summer. Wait and see.  He has worn out his welcome and has ran off a lot of people with his attitude.  Notice no large donations rolling in from the NFL players recently when you know they know we need a lot of help to build things.  I can't think of any other reason why we aren't further ahead it that area with money we have in the NFL.

Pat Dye (Auburn's ex-football coach, Bo Jackson years) graduated from Georgia.  Vince Dooley (Georgia's ex football coach and AD) graduated from Auburn. "The Deep South's Oldest D-IA Football Rivalry." They hate each other, yet hired an alumnus from their enemy.

Joe Lee Dunn (Memphis DC) was head coach at Ole Miss, and then was DC at Miss. State. He stuffed the Rebels for years and they do not like each other as well.

Bo Schembechler, Michigan's Coach Emeritus, received his master's degree from Ohio State in 1952 while serving as a graduate assistant coach. Michigan hired and OSU alumni!

Need less to say, all these schools actually play each other every year. Perhaps by hiring Holliday (if it happens) he can goad the "School Up North" (stolen from Woody Hayes) to play us every year and settle it on the field.  Do you really believe he would try and ruin his name by purposely tanking against WVU? I think not, plus he's a monster in South Florida recruiting.  He single handedly recrutied South Florida during WVU's rise to the Nat'l Championship game in 1988. Can you imagine a Marshall team with some Southern Florida speed? Dangerous, very Dangerous, and speed makes me happy! :-D

We already get Florida talent.  Thing is that is an area that will be hard to recruit when you have so many schools to compete with and now USF who is in the BE and an easy climb to the BCS they have.  Hard to compete with beaches and hot women and an easy shot at the BCS while we struggle to get a shot at anything.

Recruting is all about the relationships. As one of the articles pointed out, the people in South Florida love him.  Moreover, look at what John L. Williams and Petrino did with some South Florida speed, got themselves into a BCS confrence.  Rememebr there have been reports that the Big East is breaking up in 5 years and only stayed together in one big conference so the basketball only schools wouldn't lose their automaic bid (you need 6 schools to have been together for at least 5 years to keep it). Marshall should be looking to teh Big east in 5 years and speed from So FL, can only help!

I am sure it is a harder job then just calling up other ADs and asking if they want to play a game.  And probably all of us on here could not just walk in and do his job.  But here is the problem.  He couldn't walk in and do my job or yours.  Becasue there is training that goes into every job and this is what he has supposedly been trained to do, not us.  So if his education and experience lead him down the path of AD, then he needs to perform as one.  And just like any job, if you don't produce you get fired.

texasherd fan, im was just wonder why you keep trying to sell us this florida recruiting bull? for starters head coaches dont recruit. if we need a guy with florida recruiting experience snyder is the man again he has recruited florida for the last 15 years. if doc holiday has good florida recuiting ties, thats awsome because thats a great qualification to have for a position coach which he is, and why i think urban myer hired him. its as simple as that, head coaches dont recruit and the selection comittee knows that...
