  • We'll sportsfan, we will try to better. I, am a West Virginian, educated almost, 100% in WVA, except for my MBA at Tulane. Which, from reading your posts, I am certain you would not qualify for any of their programs, and I mean ever. You are an ignorant dumb bastar$, and I truly hope you can improve over the years to come.

    GO THUNDERINGHERD!

     :?

What really get's to me is I sacrificed my body, and life for ignorant people like you. You, son, are a disgrace to your family, the State of WVA, and America, and comprise a part of the scum of this earth.

fact   Audio pronunciation of "Fact" ( P )  Pronunciation Key  (fkt)
    n.

       1. Knowledge or information based on real occurrences: an account based on fact; a blur of fact and fancy.
       2.
             1. Something demonstrated to exist or known to have existed: Genetic engineering is now a fact. That Chaucer was a real person is an undisputed fact.
             2. A real occurrence; an event: had to prove the facts of the case.
             3. Something believed to be true or real: a document laced with mistaken facts.
       3. A thing that has been done, especially a crime: an accessory before the fact.
       4. Law. The aspect of a case at law comprising events determined by evidence: The jury made a finding of fact.

    Idiom:
    in (point of) fact

In reality or in truth; actually.

And the FACT is Hardesty nor Pastilong want this game. Not because of competition on the field. But competition for the state of WV. It was alright when Marshall was a I-AA and just took up a lil part of the state. But now that we are I-A and growing and have more room to grow its become an emanate threat.

And to give them a game especially in Huntington is almost total and economic disastar for WVU. Trust me this has nothing to do with on the field play. It has everything to do with them knowing how much they are going to lose by it.

  • No, it has everything to do with the fact that Marshall is a welfare recipient in this state who made the idiotic decision to now send all their revenue and non-revenue sports to SMU, Houston, UTEP, Southern Miss, Tulane, and Central Florida when you are already a pauper.

A $300,000 loss on the bowl trip?? NO PROBLEM. The WV taxpayer will pick it up. Geesh.

Without a handout from WVU, your destitute program will be NAIA within 5 years. Maybe you guys can pick up redeemable cans along the highway to raise the cash.

But your program will need to find another form of financial support.  8-)

  • The  most amazing thing about the most rabid WVU fans is that most of them not only didn't attend WVU, they didn't attend any college at all.

  • WVU budget from the State is around $535 million compared to around $165 million for MU, so who is in the welfare line for state handouts.

  • What's amazing to me is how a program with so many resources like WVU still underachieves.  They have a large stadium, an indoor practice facility, an impressive weightroom, and quality practice fields, yet, when it comes to winning in a watered-down Big East, they blow it.  If WVU wants to be in the same class as the Ohio States, Miamis, and Notre Dames they need to start producing like those schools.

  • This is what you do in Morganhole when you wait too late to call up your boyfriends to arrange your date for the evening and you need to find a way to occupy your time between IM-ing people you meet on gay porn sites.

If that was my opinion, Hardesty would have signed and gave Marashall an equitable deal 8 years ago. Its a FACT. Hardesty knows he is losing the southern part of the state and giving Marshall this game at Home will only give us more exposure. He can't do that. Eight years ago Marshall was willing to take a 3-1, but the contract sent to Huntington was 4-0 in Morgantown and J. Wade Gily our president at the time said not a chance in hell, give us a home game and well accept. Now they think we'll take the 3-1 you're crazy.

p.s. Thunderingherb, has the most accurate post here, however.
This is a matter of fact here where I live, and I am certain it is one of the big problems that Jacksonville has encountered. They don't like the WVU fans, and have in so many words said so for the past 2-3 years, in the press.

you know it may be a little late for it, but i don't think that anyone from WVU ever has a right to criticize anyother school about losing anything dealing with a bowlgame.

  • No that's your opinion.  Facts are proveable, actual, have objective reality.  It is a FACT that WVU and MU played in 1997.  It is a FACT that WVU won the game.  It is a FACT they are not scheduled to play again.  As to why, that is an OPINION.  And there are lots of OPINIONS as to why.  Your's is no more valid than any others.  And since you can't tell the difference between a FACT and an OPINION, in my OPINION that makes your's less valid.

Now, that's not so hard is it?
