HUNTINGTON -- Jean Francois Bro Grebe from the Marshall University men's basketball squad left the Ivory Coast national team, the Web site|www.africabasket.com reportedBro Grebe participated in the All-Africa Games in Algeria where the Ivory Coast placed sixth of 11 teams.The Web site reported Bro Grebe and teammate Zerek Knight "left the team after the games in Algeria because of the lack of professionalism on the side of the ministry of sports."The 6-foot-9 Marshall graduate student from Abdijan, Ivory Coast, isn't listed as part of the team for the African Championships beginning Friday in Angola.Ivory Coast officials announced Aug. 10 that the national team wouldn't take part in the African Championships because of financial reasons, but later changed its stance.The team arrived Sunday in Angola, putting an end to the speculation. "President Kore Moise of the Ivory Coast Basketball Federation (FIBB) did a lot of work persuading the Ministry of Sports to release fund for the team's participation in the event," a report said.
