Topic: Do you guys ever discuss anything other than WVU?

Just curious. I don't have a dog in this hunt but a lot of this seems to be very hypocritical. You say you don't need WVU and how they mean nothing to you, yet you talk about them 24/7. This entire forum seems to be immersed in an odd obesession with a team that's not even on your schedule.

Then I see your moderator Blade in the past when I have lurked (a man who makes a lot of great points) talk about how you guys desperately want in the Big East and how you must do everything in your power as a program to receive an invite, then you turn around and rejoice because the Gator Bowl may pull out of the very league you guys would kill to be invited to.

Seriously, what sense does that make?

So you don't need or care about WVU, yet all you do is talk about them? Do you see Ohio State fans worried about Akron? That would be nuts for our fans to do.  The Zips are not on our schedule. Nor is Ball State.

You want to see the Gator Bowl leave and the Big East go up in flames (which this DShoe has told you guys isn't ever gonna happen), yet you would do anything to get into that same league that could be minus a major bowl and a bowl certainly larger than any bowl game that the Marshall program has ever been to?

No offense, but you guys can't seem to pick which side of your mouth you are gonna speak out of. Sorry if I offended anybody. I am just baffled at the level of hypocricy.

Not being hypocritical...personally for me...it is an absolute hatred, I want them to fail at absolutely everything, right now we are not in the Big East, therefore, I hope it bottoms out and sucks for air for years to come.

Dude, it is the offseason.  These topics tend to takeoff during this time.  During the season, we are more inclined to discuss on-field issues.  I'm just curious, Red Range 41, who do you root for?

I hope it works out for you. I was here last year prior to our game and I returned to see a message board that I could swear was a West Virginia message board.

"WVU this and WVU that". I would have thought you guys would focus on teams you DO play. It makes more sense for you guys to talk about OSU than WVU. At least you played us last year.

well, we haven't stooped to the level of lurking other boards yet.

we have arrived, we have pitt, state and other fans lurking our boards and commenting on wvu.

i hear they're discussing MU on the wvu boards as well.

right now it's a big topic in wv in the news, radio etc....don't know why a message board would be any different...it is the off season.

Not all Herd fans "hate" WVU or think MU does not need WVU's assistance.

Personally, I can not stand WVU and their pompus attitude...but, IF Marshall is going to move into a more competitive conference (i.e. big east) then WVU will probably be a member of that conference.  Thus, we will need WVU's "support."  

MU can accomplish more (in a shorter period of time) with WVU's support then witout it...

The citizens, government and schools in WV need to work together to improve the Sate...unfortunatley in WV no one works together for the "common good"

Red Range, I respect that.  The luxury that you guys have is that you get to actually play your rival.  This is the problem with playing a team in the press and not on the field, we have a tendency to get into these debates that have nothing to do with performance.

There are 2 D1 programs in WV.  There are at least 6 in OH.  

OSU has at least played some of the others.  WVU refuses to.

Negotiations for a game are HOT right now; come back in July when we're looking toward C-USA and you won't see much about the 'beers.

1 to 2 months ago we were all "debating" who the new Head Football Coach should be...

This month it is WVU and the 12 game schedule.

As MarshallMArk pointed out, come back in in July and we will be discussing CUA.  Come back in August and we will be discussing MU football practice.  Come back in December and we will be discussing MU first CUSA championship...
