  • On Oct. 15 it will be two years since Marshall held a team to less than 20 points.

Marshall has not beaten a team with a winning record since we beat Miami Sept. 29, 2004.

We have not beaten a team on the road with a winning record since Kansas St on Sept. 20, 2004

Marshall has lost six home games since 2005. From 1991-2004, we lost 5.

Snyder has lost 19 games in 2.5 years as a Marshall head coach, Pruett lost 23 in 8 years.

We have lost 14 out of Snyder's 28 games by 10 points or more, Pruett lost 14 games by ten points or more in 117 games.

Snyder has lost as many games by 20 points (9) as he as won.

Snyder's record against winning or non-losing teams is 0-14 (assuming that WVU, Cincy and Miami have winning seasons, which they will)

Snyder's true road record is 1-13.

The combined winning percentage of the D-1 teams Snyder has beat is .318. Snyder's winning percentage is .321. Snyder's winning percentage against D-1 teams is 25%.

Snyder has lost to BCS teams by an average score of 12-35.

We are losing on the road under Snyder by an average score of 12-32.5

Snyder's best win is either over a 5-6 UAB or 5-6 SMU team in 2005. I will let you debate which win was more impressive.

We have failed to score 20 points in 11 of Snyder's 28 games.

We have been held to one score in 6 of Snyder's games.

Guys, all this resume is missing is 0-12. I am going on record right now in saying we need to cut our losses now and get rid of him at the end of the year if 0-12 occurs. Youth, injuries, and a lack of scholarships can be an excuse for not winning but not an excuse for not be competitive. We aren't even competitive in most of Snyder's games.

  • I totally agree w/ you on Snyder we should cut him and most of the staff loose now but its never going to happen unless one of us hits the lottery and donates enough money to pay off Snyder's buyout and high a new coach.

  • I noticed that you try to compare Pruett to Snyder a lot, in your "stats".

So I know what we should do to fix all of this. Let's bring back Jim Donnan for about 5 years. Then let's give Snyder the job again after Donnan leaves and I'll bet he can win bowl games and championships and probably have the best record of any coach ever in the history of Marshall, just like Pruett did. The only reason Pruett did as well as he did is because Donnan left a hell of a team in place for years to come. Then because we were so good Pruett didn't have to recruit hard, some good players just came here because we were Marshall. Then Hill got hurt and we didn't go to a bowl in 03, and we got a bad recruiting class, then we went 6-5 and lost badly to Cincinnati in 06, and Pruett saw the future and go the hell while he was on top. What a great guy he is? I have talked to at least 7 former players and all of them said that they liked playing for Snyder more than Pruett.

To bad the good ole boy, Bobby Pruett, couldn't leave his replacement anything and gave Snyder no chance to recruit his own guys for his first season. Give Snyder more than 2 recruiting classes to clean up the enormous mess that Pruett left. I would bet my life that if Snyder is here past 2010, then we will be back to winning 9 games a year by then.

  • Uh, Jack Lengyel teams held the opponent to less than 20 points 9 times in his first 30 games.  I think he inherited a worse team than Snyder.

To expand on that stat, Marshall has now given up 20+ points in 22 consecutive games.  The longest previous streak in that category was 8 in 1977 and again in 1978.

If you are interested, the opposite streak, giving up less than 20, is 15 games between 10/26/40 and 10/3/42.  Maybe we can get Cam Henderson back.

You might want to make funeral arrangements because Snyder will not have a winning season by 2010.
