  • You remember the game against Akron a couple of years ago?  Players dropping balls that are normally caught, silly mistake here and there.  I swear thats what this whole season feels like.  This season has been one great big game against Akron.

  • I'm amazed that we can even shoot ourselves in the foot...You'd think we'd miss.

  • I thought the same thing especially when I seen the qb heave it down the field. It was in the air so long I thought the receiver might try to fair catch it. Shades of Charlie Frye.

  • Wolfman, the past four seasons have been in Akron mode.

I am afraid we may melt down into Toledo 2000 mode here soon.

  • That Akron game was the beginning of this mess.  This funk goes back to the last couple of Pruett years and reaches at least a couple of months into the future.  I would have to call this strange phenomenon, "THE MARCUM EFFECT."

  • The 2000 team ended up winning the conference championship. This team will come nowhere near that.

  • The only difference I see is that we had the Akron game at hand and melted down a 28-7 lead.

This year we let ourselves get behind 24-0 to a I-AA team...
In the middle of Huntington, West Virginia, there is a river. Next to this river, there is a steel mill. And next to the steel mill, there's a school. In the middle of this school, there's a fountain. Each year, on the exact same day, the exact same hour, the water to this fountain is turned off. And in this moment, once every year, throughout the town, throughout the school, time stands still.
