Grass Roots Effort!!

    • What are everyone's thoughts on a grass roots effort to get KO out of our AD posistion? Change must happen & the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

    Any ideas out there or opinions?

    E-mail campaign, petitons, letters to the editor?

    Any feedback could not hurt?

    • To right the ship, all the "Powers That Be" have to do next summer is simply not renew Marcum's contract and allow him to retire, then make a concerted effort to hire the right man for our next AD. It gives me hope that this could happen.

    • Wolf is exactly correct, sad but true. If you don't give big bucks, AKA, Marshall Reynolds, The Gibsons, etc, they could care less. This type of thinking and attitude will be our downfall my friends.

    It didn't appear that they paid much attention to MR during the basketball coach search.

    BTW, this isn't a criticism of DJ, merely the process.

    I believe MR and another backer paid off Jirsa's contract and the bills for the hiring of Jones. I don't think MR would have paid the bill unless he got his input on the hire.

    I don't know MR at all and I don't know anyone inside the process but it appeared from just observation of the process, specifically MR's quotes, that  he was interested in someone with HC experience, probably Greg Marshall.

    Again no inside info, just opinion based on what I read in the papers and on here. (And we know the Internet is a reliable source.  :lol:  :lol:  :lol: )

    • We truly have a good 'ol boy network at MU that will be difficult to penetrate. Its like Woody defending poor coaching. "They (includes the administration & Bd of Trustees) simply don't care what we think as long as we continue to give to the Big Green and buy seats. If that were to stop, everyone in charge would sit up and take notice - and maybe even listen to us.

    The single biggest mishap was Kopp extending Synder's contract to 2013 after the first losing season. Personally, that told me a great deal - and that is NOT making a judgement on Synder. It is simply bad business to do something like that, but it foes spell out very clearly what we're  talking about when we speak of the good 'ol boy network. To get their attention would be like swinging at a fly in the dark with a lollipop stick. You "ain't" gonna hit it - and if you did it would bounce off like a golf ball hitt'n concrete.

    We're stuck with an incompetent AD and there's little that can be done about it. H*ll, he is friends with two of the most powerful Bd of Trustees.  Kopp is employed by the Bd of Trustees. Get the picture?

    There is a strong effort being made by the forces of nature aided and abbetted by Father Time.  Kayo is not a young man and does not partiuclarly need to fight the fight forever.

    • Kayo is Menis Ketchum's guy. If you can't convince Menis that it's time for new blood in the AD, it's not going to happen, imo.
