HUNTINGTON -- Normally, questions at quarterback would dominate an entire week's storyline.

Tracking the health of Southern Miss starter Jeremy Young certainly is a priority, but it's not the end-all to offensive success. Regardless of who lines up under center Sunday night at Joan C. Edwards Stadium, Southern Miss will dance with the one that brought them -- notably a no-nonsense, power running game.

Stephen Reaves started in Young's place last week against SMU, throwing and running for a touchdown in a 28-7 win. Sophomore tailback Damion Fletcher was the rock, however, topping 100 rushing yards for the 11th time in his brief career.

Young's status is uncertain, but Fletcher and a physical offensive line are all set for this weekend's clash with Marshall. The Thundering Herd (0-6, 0-2 Conference USA) and Southern Miss (3-3, 2-1) kick off at 8 p.m. Sunday. ESPN will televise the game.

"They're the same offense," Marshall coach Mark Snyder said when addressing the uncertainty at quarterback. "Young can get out of trouble a little better than Reaves can. He can do great things with his feet. Not to say that Reaves cannot do that.
