  • Aaron is right ... this is a big game for us. I honestly think if we win this game against ECU, they should clear off an entire shelf at the MU Cafe' ... Then when you walk past the old trophies, the old uniforms and even the picture of the football team we lost on that tragic day ... there on that shelf by itself ... we would see the entire section dedicated to this important football game, that lifted us  beyond a 1-8 record ... making us proud to be 2-8.

  • Wow, I never thought I would see someone refer to Marshall history in such a negative light.  We do need a win and it would be big for next year, I don't know anyone, well now I do, that would claim a a win, any win, would compare to the Marshall loss of yesteryear.

  • well Mr. Anderson led us to ZERO points against that squad in nearly and entire half of football......

We all better be hoping that Anderson or someone emerges as our next QB, or Snyder will really be toast, if he sint already.  As of right now I see us going into next season with no noteworthy QB.

Secondly, its not cool to bash Anderson (or any player).  Maybe its Snyder's fault for recruiting him?  You cant blame Anderson for accepting a scholarship to get a free education.

But it almost sounds like our next game is that important to Aaron Perkins.  Im not going to feel that much better when we are 2-8 than I am now at 1-8.

  • My point was, it is a bigger game than New Hampshire because that is a game that he was SUPPOSED to win.  Whereaas, this is a game that he is not supposed to win.

Everyone is saying, and rightfully so, that he has won ZERO games that he was not supposed to win.

Thus the reason, this is a big game, a bigger game than UNH, Rice, or UAB.

I agree with you. It has to start somewhere.

Exactly. I think beating ECU , with what they have to play for, would be a major shock.

  • If I am not mistaken Anderson was already commited when Snyder took over.  Also Bernie Morris has worked his a$$ off and its not fair to the fans or him to jerk him and play Anderson who is horrible.  We also have Garner that transferred from Georgia Tech who can play next year.

He was a soft verbal pre-Snyder, but Snyder keep recruiting him and he signed with us...

  • Okay my bad but I doubt he will ever start for the herd with Garner, McCann and smith here.  Just my thoughts but I think we have to be patient our time will come again.

I think Smith will be held back by his height and the fact that Garner and Cann looked a good bit better than him this fall. I know the coaches were very impressed with how quickly Cann absorbed the playbook.

I'm still trying to figure out if Snyder knows the playbook or not. :P

  • I'd like an answer to this question: How much PLAYING TIME does Garner have in actual college football games?

I think he threw one pass at GT.

  • I think he threw one pass at GT.

But he could calculate precise trajectory of the ball, the rotation rate, the speed in both feet per second and meters per second, the shift in trajectory due to wind, and the likelihood of completion and interception in both percentage and ratio.

If that's correct, we have absolutely no experience at the QB position when next season arrives. That eases any doubts I had about next year. ::)
