  • THis same bunch said we didn't have the money to buy out Ron Jirsa either. We did and if Mark Snyder doesn't get us to a bowl game next year he is done. The money is there to do it.

  • You act like Marshall has zero dollars in it bank account.  Oh my gosh the school has no money at all.  THe same exact thing was said about Jirsa. He will stay because we can't afford to buy him out.  Didn't happen that way now did it? Mark Snyder will either win next year or he will be dismissed. Mark it down.

We don't have the money to buyout Snyder's contract, we can't even afford volleyball championship rings!?!?!

  • I don't give a sh!t about VB either, but if as an athletic department we can't afford their rings, there's no way we can afford $1.5m to get a new football coach.

Gee thanks for the support for the ladies guys.  Whether you two are being sarcastic or not, there's no reason to down one of our most successful athletic programs.  The ladies gave their all this year and lost a nail biter to Tulsa (which they should have won).  They are bringing in revenue and being competitive....give them the respect they are due.

my post was too harsh, i'm glad they do well and respect what they do.

that said, yes they're successful, but they have a ton more expenses than they'd dream about revenues? does mu even charge to attend regular season VB matches?

Where does the majority of Snyder's money come from?  It comes from the Foundation and other perks.  Where does a lot of their money come from? It comes from private donors. They can buy him out when/if the time comes. Not that it wouldn't hurt financially but, it could be done.  Again the same exact thing was said about Jirsa.  When money talks even people like Kopp have to listen. At the end of the day it will be the financial aspect that will get Snyder(assuming it does).  That is what got Jirsa.  The whole can't afford to buy him out is not true.

  • Prime example of the disconnect of a message board - disagree with someone's position, then you MUST be a sympathizer with the object of the criticism.  'soccer asserts a pragmatic option that is in opposition to the "fire Snyder" crowd, and 'soccer is painted as a sympathizer.  Others have made similar leaps of logic - if one doesn't demand Snyder's head on a pike, then such a person must be perfectly happy with the results of this or any other season.  Neither characterization necessarily follows the assertion.
