Pres F said there were 3 unhappy people in the room when the contract with wvu signed. Gov told them to put on a happy face. He told the story about if they can't come to Htn, every other year we'll paint mountaineer field green and white and it will be a Herd home game. said Manchin has been a great friend to MU no matter where he comes from.

Who here wouldnt have loved to be a fly on the wall during that exchange?  Could you imagine mountaineer field painted with the Marshall logos on it?  Brillant, simply brillant.

I'll be the first to say that I was wrong about Manchin.  Not only has he shown that he will be somewhat fair to Marshall, he's shown he's a man of his word.  My hat's off to him.  If he can follow through on some of his other plans and vision to the state, he just may go down as one of the most successful Gov's of WV.

I have been a Manchin fan for years, Met him several times at various functiions, and he always was a look you in the eye, and tell you what he thought.  Would have been Gov earlier, were it not for Charlotte Pritt.

I think he will do well, looks good so far........

I found Farrell's mention of the Senate bill that gives the autonomy to the individual schools even more interesting.  He said that WVU has been trying for a while to get this bill passed and he said he agreed with it, but ONLY if Marshall also got to ride on that train.  

Honestly, on that one, we owe a huge thanks to Senator Plymale for getting us our fair share.  He has learned how to play the game in the WVU alumni-heavy legislature.   This bill is why we are seeing the improvements starting to take place.

Also, huge kudos to Farrell for his leadership through this last several months. This man is truly passionate about MU and is a true son of Marshall.  He is a very good and inspiring speaker.

EP I said I want a 3-1 in Morgantown we will only paint our field ever 4th year. Either that or make us play in Huntington, then I smiled and winked at Joe and 45 mins later he had a contrat wrote up and said I had agreed to it.
