OL FU (Furman Fan) has an infactuation with us or something there isn't a week goes by he doesn't either start 1-3 threads about Marshall or say something in a topice thats already going. He says he hates Marshall, I hate WVU too and I don't talk about them unless its to rebute something.

I actually got advice from him that Marshall fans were the worst. I told him about my experience on here and he said things may have changed over the years. He is very negative towards you guys.

Any Furman fans that hate us, gave us reason to trash them on several occasions.  I happen to remember in 1996( I think), they happened to be up at half time and as our team was going back to the locker rooms, they made complete arses out of themselves and started trash talking to the team and a lot of Herd fans.  All that did was motivate the Herd and ended up beating them 42-17.  The Herd players must have still remembered the rude treatment they received from Furman fans as the Herd and Furman met again in the playoffs and Marshall thumped them 54-0.

It still amazes me though that they are obsessed with the Herd.  I know some Delaware fans are the same.  A good friend of mine lives just outside of Delaware and when she moved in with her roomate, she put up some of her Marshall stuff.  Her roommate and all of the roomate's friends were Delaware grads and said they hated Marshall more than any other team out there.  And this was just a couple of years ago.v  And we've only played them like 5 times.
    Gatorade sucks.  Water is better.

  • Carolinaherdfan, talking smack won't get it done. Bill & Mary have an excellent program and a great coach. We haven't faced very many coaches as good as Laycock.

don't sell your team short...Youngstown almost beat us a few years ago... a late interception TD return saved MU's butts from a loss...

However, your team should be concerned about injuries (espically since this is a $$$ game for your team)...an injury in a game like this could ruin your season in DIV I-AA...I would think an Nat'l Championship is more important than a victory in Huntington, WV...

Thanks, Mr_Ash.  As I've said, if our young QBs play well, I think we'll at least be in the game. That's a big question mark, though.

As far as injuries go, we've never experienced any additional injuries when playing I-As. There's not much size and strength difference, more speed and athletic ability. The positions where I-As are usually bigger than us are along the OL and at DT. Your OL is definitely bigger than ours, but your DL looks to be about the same size as our guys. The game where we worry about injuries is, oddly enough, VMI. For some reason we've suffered alot of injuries playing them over the years.

Depth is another story. AT UNC last year it was very hot. Carolina was platooning their OL in the first half, and it paid off in the fourth quarter. Even though we rotated 8 defensive linemen, their OL was much fresher in the 4th.

The last 3 games being the most crucial games.

I can't find the thread but there was a Delaware poster whinning and crying that Delaware always had to come to Huntington. Read the rules, those who get home field advatage get to play at home.

  • FABA Delaware, Tubby Raymond was the biggest whiner this side of Terry Hoeppner.
Superior skill and knowledge win over fear and superstition each and every time.

While I have great respect for Delaware and its fans, I must say that the current coach, K.C. Keeler, is every bit as big a whiner as Tubby ever was. Before our playoff game against them last year, he whined all week about us only sending them 3,000 tickets. And then they ended up returning 900 of them.

  • I was just in Indiana helping move my daughter and son-in-law back to Florida. He and I go into this oil change place and I see a sports page on the counter. It says " Im going to wake up Indiana Football- terry Hoeppner :o

I just about choked on a drink of Pepsi. I thought, what will the Michigan and Ohio St folks think when his assistants punch their fans and trash their press boxes. what a joke he is. :???:

  • Terry will understand why Randy Walker has never done anything at Northwestern. He will be lucky to make a bowl every 4 or so years. How I would love to destoy Terry at Indiana. But Im sure we are on his blacklist at Hoosier land.

  • HerdZone- Ive always thought our best chance at 1 for 1 with OCCs would be in that direction. Indiana, Louisville, Cincy ( maybe Snyder can do this with their new OSU coach), UK ( if they would play)would all be good and close games. Hoeppner would never play MU thats for sure.
