  • I venture to guess one of the talented Wide Receivers from Florida. Don't pin me down to one cause I think we have several, any one of which could turn out to be good enough to start, certainly before the end of the season. It will depend on which one picks up the plays and the system quickest. But, as a freshman, he'll have to really "get after it" in Doc's eyes, to win the job.  I further believe that Doc will give them the chance to do so if they are truly the best of the lot and work to become a starter.

I feel that we have had some lazy players for the last several years--players who never came close to realizing their full potential.  My hope is that is changing as of now.
    Go HERD!!!

  • I hope you're right JT...about the lazy players part that is...

I think Doc gets so many good players because he tells them of their potential and not just at one position either. He probably tells them that they'd make a tremendous impact at their prior named position, but that he'd also like to try them at a different one as well.
It's probably the best thing to tell a young athlete in competition with others, that he can play other spots. Plus, the workouts with different positions can only improve his mobility in his main position.
I hope I'm right with that...I could see a WR turning into a CB and being much better at it since he'll bring with him the acquired skills of a WR along with his ability as a CB.

In either case, I doubt just 1 of the new freshmen will start, I see a few possibly starting. I hope our "Moving Van" gets eiligible!
