You guys want an outside opinion?  Well, I'm a Mia....er....Ohi.....um....Tol...yeah, a Toledo Mud Hens fans...I mean Rockettes....no THAT's ROCKETS fan. Now where was I?

Ok.  Let me start over.  

I'm a Toledo Rockets fan and I think WVU sucks.

The $100,000 was originally given to WVU to be used for the Rifle Team because the people of WV, outraged over the loss the country's best Rifle Team, contacted their representatives and demanded something be done to keep the team intact, not because the WVU administration asked for it. Here's an idea, drop football, if the people of WV care they will be sure the legislature funds you properly.

Of course all schools get government help when building things. Self-sufficient means being able to handle the day-to-day operations without government assistance, which for some reason, you guys don't seem to understand, or conveniently pretend not to understand.

because if i understand what was written in the original newspaper article, it said that they couldn't keep the rifle team because of the lack of state funding this year?  did i understand that correctly?  well if so, then what on earth is the new yorker critizing those who have posted on here for?  by saying what i have in the quotes above he completely agreed with what was written by WOlfman, 2xBison, TexasHerdFan, and the others.  i don't understand why he is critizing people who are saying the same thing he is.
