It was cold today and the Herd was to play tennis against Louisville outside.
Brrrrrrrrrrrrr!

As the time got closer to 1 PM it warmed up a bit (a little bit) with the sun popping out
ever so often. So, I get my heavy winter Herd (Kelly Green) parka out with my football
seat cushion (that you put in the microwave) and my Nikon.  And what did the ladies play
wearing?  Little tennis outfits with compression shorts under them.....That's All!
I was freezing to death and they were banging the tennis ball around.

So much for the conditions and attire.

The Herd started off strong in doubles winning #1 quickly with Michaela and Dominika playing
together again.  Then, at #3 Kara and Karli played well and took the doubles point with their win.

HERD - 1   U of L - 0

Then as the singles started, one could tell that the Herd Lineup at the top four positions were in for
a match.  But, looking down at the end of the court our #5 and #6 were quietly sweeping their opponents
with 2 wins.  Maria and Kara came through again with team points two and three.

Again, one point to go for the match.  Then at #3 Catherine had a very competitive match in the first set,
broke loose and swept the second set for the team point win.  Then Dominika at two and Michaela at one
took the win.  The only loss came at #4 where Kristina lost a tiebreaker 10 - 6.

1.  #33 Ranked Michaela Kissell & Dominika Zaprazna (Marshall) defeated Fellerhoff & Shine (Louisville)  8 - 1.

2.  Catherine Kellner & Maria Voscekova (Marshall) lost to Villajuan & Harris (Louisville)   5 - 8.

3.  Kara Kucin & Karli Timko (Marshall) defeated Mandry & Duncan (Louisville)   8 - 4.


SINGLES

1.  Michaela Kissell (Marshall) defeated Fellerhoff (Louisville)   7 - 5, 5 - 7, 10 - 8.

2.  Dominika Zaprazna (Marshall) defeated Shine (Louisville)  6 - 4, 6 - 4.

3.  Catherine Kellner (Marshall) defeated Mandry (Louisville)   6 - 4, 6 - 0.

4.  Kristina Kopercina (Marshall) lost to Harris (Louisville)   6 - 4, 1 - 6, 6 - 10.

5.  Maria Voscekova (Marshall) defeated Duncan (Louisville)   6 - 0, 6 - 0.

6.  Kara Kucin (Marshall) defeated Bokhari (Louisville)   6 - 0, 6 - 1.


The next match is a tough one.....Sunday at noon on the Herd campus versus
#33 ranked VCU that's right Virginia Commonwealth and they are really good.

The Herd will have to play at the top of their game to win this one.
