  • Spring Valley Junior to be Elijah Wellman was invited to the National Underclassman Elite 100 Camp at the University of Oklahoma.  He is one of only 15 linebackers in the country invited.  At 6'3'' 230 pounds this guy is an absolute beast.  I believe he ran a 4.75 in front of Doc a couple of weeks ago.  WVU is already beating down his door along with a lot of other schools.  I know some of you will think i am crazy..........but Elijah Wellman is better right now, as a junior to be, than Larry McCloud was at a High school senior.

  • We are rising at the right time. By the time these quality local kids become seniors, we will be hitting our stride and very capable of landing them.

  • Both of these kids are great! They attend church with my parents and the church I grew up in. Great family too. Both kids are class acts and will make the MU family proud.

Tough to tell right now really.  He is also being recruited in Baseball.  Has a visit to University of Cincy lined up in baseball.  Marshall and WVU will both be on his list.  Would not be surprised if he gets ACC and SEC offers though.

Hopefully we can keep him here.

  • Let's hope so. I love seeing the local guys getting credit for hard work and determination but I love even more to see them in the green and white.

  • He has a WVU license plate ???  He pitched in Atlanta a couple of weeks ago and was clocked at 89 mph.  It's hard to believe he is only a junior in high school.  He is built like a freaking tank!

Let's hope his brother has had a great experience here and recruits him hard.  Maybe he can play both sports here.

  • Just saw a picture of him on  a friends Facebook page that he's staying with in Oklahoma City. Caption said "getting ready for the combine" and he was wearing a Marshall Thundering Herd T shirt.

  • It is my understanding he is a fan of both Marshall and WVU.  I think the only problem Marshall has is that he prolly wants to play Baseball and Football.  He tops out around 90 in baseball as a soph.  I think CUSA is a much better place to play baseball..............but the reality is not having a field is pretty crappy.  It is a long time away though...............he will have a ton of offers to go over in both sports.

Not possible.  You can't be a "fan" of both.  That's kinda like the coach who says, "we have two QB's" --- a.k.a. "we have none" --- It's NOT possible to have true allegiances to MU and wvu.

  • I don't think he has "true allegiances" to either one.  Either way it would be nice to get him.

It would be GREAT to keep a kid here in town, where he belongs!  ;D
