  • On a serious note, while these may not be the perfect times for everyone, I think Mike Hamrick is doing a good job.  WE ARE WEARING KELLY GREEN AGAIN!!!  I will take that one over 7pm kickoff times.  Unlike highpants, Hamrick listens to us.  I don't think it is realistic to think that we are going to get everything we want right away.

I agree 100% Thundering. I understand USM and Va Tech probably are based on TV. The one time, that I do not understand is the UAB game, as I do not see this having much TV appeal and if this one done so they could show it on local TV in Alabama, than I think Hammrick should reconsider this start time and move it to 7pm. An earlier post stated that everything is excuses and you make the time to attend the games, probably three to four years ago I would say that you were correct, but now having a 6 and a 9 year old, and Saturday morning sports and cheerleading, I have to disagree, as being here in Boone County, these start times are not conducive to those of us still local but outside the tri-state to do the activities and have anytime to tailgate and make the games. These kickoffs are problematic and these are not just excuses as I cannot tell my kids each and everytime that one of these bonehead kickoff times come up that they cannot participate in sports because of the Marshall games, as all their friends are participating and that is not fair ans selfish for me as a parent. I hope Hammrick takes this into consideration in future schedules as these times do hurt some people and no these are not just excuses! If they want to keep season ticketholders and grow the base, they need to keep some game times for fans. Terry Holland has made that statement at ECU, that they will not move all their games and appreciate their fans and Hammrick I believe needs to do the same.

  • I agree on Hamrick, he's done a great job thus far.

I really would have loved to have seen a night game kelly green out though.

One good thing about earlier start times is if you have to stay in Huntington like many, you can still go out afterwards and watch games on TV.
What do you call a place where the coaches are drunks, the players pistol whip local citizens and the fans mug and rob expecting mothers ? You call it - THE FLAGSHIP PROGRAM IN THE STATE OF WV!!! Ollie Luck AD

The Marshall UAB game is for TV. The Marshall schedule on the Herd Zone reflects as much. I remember seeing that is was listed when all the TV coverage was announced a few weeks ago but forget which entity. I believe it was CSS.
