  • Odd request, but does anyone know of a good place to find some Marshall digital pictures?  I've looked around and most of what I can find I either do not like, or is not of the quality I need.  I got a photo printer, and would like to put a few of Marshall's more memoriable moments up frames and hang 'em.  I've got quite a few pictures myself, but the quality is so poor that when I make then into an 8x10 the quality is bad, even with the good printer.  Any ideas/suggestions?

  • I wish you lots of luck in your venture.  It has been my experience with digital photos that the bigger the print the worse the resolution.  I'm sure it has to do with number of pixels, etc.  I don't have any real solutions other than it may be somewhat of a trade-off such as picture size verses picture quality.

  • Okay this will help your existing images...There is a limit on how much, but this technique is very effective to make a relatively high res image much higher.

    Open the image in Photoshop.

Okay this might help your existing images...There is a limit on how much, but this technique is very effective to make a relatively high res image much higher.

    Open the image in Photoshop.

    Go to: Image>Image size.

In the dialogue box make sure you have constrain proportions and resample image checked. (they are at the bottom left.)

Change inches to percent in the Document Size portion of the dialogue box.

    Change 100% to 110%.

    Click OK

Repeat up to 15 or 16 times.

If you just increase the resolution it will pixelate like crazy, with this technique it should not be as bad.

What you are looking for to print out on a good photo-quality printer is ultimately an 8x10 at 200 dpi or 1600 x 2000 pixel document. 300 dpi would be better but many photo-quality printers will work great with 200 dpi documents. But even though you are using a 200 or 300 dpi document keep the printer set at it’s maximum dpi, it will be something like 2400 or higher. Turn off faster printing if that is an option….

  • First thanks for all the advice.  Photo by, I've got a few pictures that I'm gonna try that technique on, and see what I can come up with.

Wolf, I'd love to see the pictures you have available.  When you have time please send them to forphase1@yahoo.com.   I really appreciate it!

  • I'll send a few to you this afternoon to see if any of them are up to the quality you need.  If so I'll send you all of them.
