All the anticipation and build up of weeks of practicing and preparing for the season opener came to an anticlimactic end in the final installment of the Friends of Coal Bowl in Morgantown.  While Marshall offered some glimpses of hope offensively, the defense's performance was left few positives to build on.  Now, with the 69-34 loss to West Virginia in the review mirror, The Herd has turned its attention to this week's opponent and former Southern Conference rival Western Carolina.

"We're not worried about the last game, just getting ready for the next game and moving on," said Andre Snipes-Booker. 

Snipes-Booker's dangerous abilities as a return man were neutralized last week partly due to the NCAA's new rule moving kickoffs up to the 35 yard line.  Most of Corey Smith's kickoffs went deep into the endzone and Snipes-Booker never had a chance to return the kick.  While new rules may have been an answer to the containing the explosive Snipes-Booker, Marshall's defense could not come up with an answer for the WVU offense.
