    The Parthenon

There is little debate over which team had the best performance on the field at the 2012 Friends of Coal Bowl in Morgantown. The West Virginia University Mountaineers breezed past the Marshall Thundering Herd with a solid 69-34 win Saturday and moved up to the ninth spot in The Associated Press college football poll.

But fans from both sides clash when it comes to their opinions on continuing the in-state rivalry.

Curtis Arnold, a 1982 Marshall graduate from Hurricane, and his daughter, Brittany Hutchinson, of Harrisonburg, Va., wore contrasting colors Saturday at Milan Puskar Stadium. Arnold wore a kelly green shirt, while Hutchinson wore a bright yellow shirt in support of the Mountaineers.

Arnold has been to all eight meetings between the Herd and the Mountaineers since 1997. Both he and Hutchinson would like to see the series carry on.
