  • I doubt they pick off Sumlin.  Can't see him leaving the SEC if he is after a National title, especially with the returning Heisman winner still having 3 years to play.  You know moving to the SEC had to improve their recruiting, and now adding a heisman winner with 3 years left to play.  You have to figure that Sumlin isn't having a very hard time outrecruiting Mack Brown for the best of the best of Texas football players who want a chance to win a National Championship.  Holgerson on the other hand, IMO would likely be on his hands and knees begging Oregon to get him the hell out of Morganhole.  He has to already know his days their are numbered, and honestly I think now that they have entered the B12 and lost Geno, that school is going to become a grave yard for coaches with IMO nearly no chance of success.  I just don't see any coach being able to recruit kids to Morgantown, WV over Texas, Oklohama, Oklohoma or even Kansas State for that matter.  I think the just created a sinking ship for themselves for a long time to come.  IMO they should have really gone to the ACC, or gone nowhere, and yes I know there is no chance the ACC schools would have taken WVU.

  • It will be interesting to see what they do. They announced just before their bowl game that Mark Helfrich (current Oregon OC) would replace Chip on a permanent basis. Supposedly, part of Chip's hesitation last year, and final decision to NOT take the Tampa Bay job was that he wasn't assured the Oregon job would go to Helfrich.

If they do anything other than hire Helfrich I bet they'll owe him a ton of money.

  • Holgorsen is not a candidate.  Who starts these kind of rumors? Helfrich most likely will be named the new HC.  Part of Chip Kelly's "next man up" mantra while the Ducks coach.

  • All Holgreson has proved is that he can piss away nfl talent and lose games.

He is a qualified offensive coordinator, at best.

As Snyder was a qualified defensive coordinator at best.

  • As a Marshall fan, I hope Holgerson stays at WVU for a long time.  Also, I'm sure there's no truth to the rumor.
