Now there is a miracle worker, our baseball coach.  Does a great job.  Bringing good baseball players here is like selling ice cream cones but we do not have cones.

No doubt.  Can you imagine trying to recruit and compete at this level when you play your home games at high schools or 50 miles from campus?  Here is the football field, the softball field, soccer field, basketball arena...and in an hour we'll see where you will play's our home games.

NORFOLK, Va. -- Chase Boster, Ryan Hopkins, and Matt Margaritonda limited Old Dominion to three hits on Friday, and Marshall’s baseball team defeated the Monarchs 3-0 at the Bud Metheny Baseball Complex.

The victory marked the first time since 1977 that Marshall shut its opponent out on opening day (1-0 against Columbus College) and improved the Thundering Herd to 1-0.  Old Dominion dropped to 0-1.

Freshman Boster, in his collegiate debut, allowed one hit and no walks over five innings, and although he retired the last 13 hitters he faced, he received no decision.  Monarch left fielder Josh Eldridge’s single up the middle in the first was the only base runner Boster allowed.
