A valiant comeback effort by Marshall fell short as Memphis knocked of the Herd 71-59 as the Tigers completed the regular season sweep of the Herd.

Marshall (11-15, 4-7 Conference USA) trailed by 17 heading into the halftime locker room, but battled back within six at the midway point of the second half, but Memphis (22-3, 11-0 C-USA) would weather the storm and pull away once again.

The Thundering Herd jumped out to a 10-3 lead in the first three minutes of the game, for the remainder of the first half Memphis would go on a 40-16 run to take a 71-59 lead into the half.

Marshall came out of halftime a different team starting the second half on a 15-3 run that lasted nearly 10 minutes.
