By WILL VANCESports EditorThis time last year, the Marshall University men’s basketball team was a sixth seed heading into the Conference USA tournament where the Thundering Herd would make a run to the conference championship game before eventually falling to Memphis. This season, however, the Herd is facing a ninth seed in the C-USA tournament and looking for ways to put together a run in the tournament from the bottom. After two straight 20 win seasons and post-season tournament appearances, many fans expected the Herd to take the next step this season and earn a berth in the NCAA tournament.Instead, the Herd finished the regular season 13-18, including 1-11 on the road, and will have to win the C-USA tournament to get a chance in the NCAA tournament.
