  • Thought you all might be interested to know the Georgia's Head Coach Mark Richt is going to be coming to Huntington to visit with the Herd staff this spring.  He was very impressed with what we did against them defensively and I guess is hoping to learn a thing or two.  A very nice compliment to our program.

  • This can be viewed as an example of just how good our football program,
and its level of reputation now is.  It makes us all proud.  We can be truly great, and we will begin to prove that this year.  I believe this, and I believe that as Price at Utep is building an explosive program, such is the occasion, as Pruett is building an explosive program at Marshall.  There's a big clash ahead, and I want to be there.

  • F*$% that!! I wouldn't him a damn thing about how we stopped them!  If I were Pruett I would never give out any info on how our team does things.  Let them look at the video.

  • Is Coach P going to Akron to learn how we can avoid such a total meltdown in the future?

Actually I was at the Georgia game.  It was the only game I saw that I felt we were just up against better players and our boys played with such heart it made me proud.  Had that team showed for every game, we would not have lost another game.  I think anything we can do to befriend ourselves to larger conferences is excellent.

  • I think that we could build a nice relationship out of this.  I honestly don't think Coach P will hand over the playbook but Coaches do help each other figure out the game.  Just another point of contact that can maybe help support Marshall in any future doings.

  • I'd say our staff could learn a thing or two from Richt on player discipline.  In listening to the radio show on the way out of Athens last year, I remember hearing Richt say that an o-lineman would be punished by having to run the stadium stairs just for having a false start during the game.  I wonder what our o-lineman would have to do if they were punished?  Ride a stationary bike??

  • I wonder if this meeting could lead to another series between the schools; say a 2-1?  That would be nice.  I mean, we STILL have no OOC games scheduled for 2008.  I wouldn't mind going back down to UGA then.

  • This stuff happens all the time in all collegiate sports. The coaching world is a pretty tight fraternity.  Don't think that our guys don't visit other programs to exchange ideas.  Its not just in football either, all sports do this sort of thing.

  • He is right.  College staffs travel all the time to other schools to learn their schemes.  Every school does it, it is an open fraternity.  The bottom line is, it is not what the coaches know that win the game, it is what the players know.
