Regardless...
I tend to be pretty positive, but I also tend to be pretty realistic realizing that many of our problems have been due to injuries (and arrests) over the past couple of years at key positions. Not sure I see many places where Doc could have made key adjustments that would have made a difference and even then, I would blame Rippon over Doc (UAB). He could have gone for two to win the game at ECU last year, but if it hadn't worked, people would still be calling for his head. Our problem has been lack of speed, depth and talent in the def backfield, lack of depth on the O-Line and people playing out of place at LB, and fundamental tackling, all of which looks to be fixed (hopefully) this year.
Barring injuries at key positions, I see a 9-3 regular season with a solid shot at 10-2, winning the East and going to a bowl game. I can see us winning the CUSA Championship either at home vs. Rice or at Tulsa having already played them.
