  • He is about the only thing worth a flip in Oxford.

    Quote
Coles said he had an inkling of what his team was stepping into against a Marshall team that has lost numerous close games.

"I made the statement in January that I wanted to play Marshall in January, because I could see what was developing down here," Coles said. "A bunch of hard-luck losses. A bunch of disappointments. I was hoping they'd quit, but they didn't.

"That's a great story for this ball club."

  • I have posted several previous times that this team has only been one take-over-a-game guy from a 15-18 win team. If Jirsa expects to stay on for more than one more season, he better have this guy next season. Talk is the kid from Florida could be the guy. Let's hope so.

  • Man, I love Charlie Coles.  I truly will miss him.  One heck of a class act.  I wish him nothing but the best.  I would love to play Miami again in BBall if for no other reason than to bring Charlie back to Huntington.

  • I will really miss "Hot" Coles as well. I don't get to see many games, but I have been in the Cam on several occasions for Charlie's appearances. He is the man............

  • What I have seen this season is runs and lack of runs.  Except for a couple of games, we've played close to or better than our opponent for 30 minutes of the game.  Unfortunately the game is 40 minutes long and those 10 extra minutes are spent with the other team outscoring us 20-3 or whatever.  Conversely, I can't recall a single game where we ever went on a 10-2 run let alone a 20-3 run.

  • i gotta admit, I'm gonna miss that old ba$tard!

He made playing Miami very fun.
His antics and comments are legendary.

I sure wish we could get some kind of basketball and football series worked out.
    IT'S TAILGATING SEASON!

  • I think we appreciate him more than Miami does.

Notice he has never said he felt threatened while in Hton like the FB coach led people to believe.

Charlie almost always gets the most out of his talent....that's the sign of a great coach.
