  • For the moment, we are BACK!
"On rainy days, the early justices would enliven case conferences with wine. On other days, even if the sun was shining, Chief Justice John Marshall would order wine anyway, saying, 'Our jurisdiction is so vast that it must be raining somewhere.' "

  • I figure next yr UCF, Houston and Cincy the only three teams that might win in Huntington....maybe not all three of those. And that's what I care about. Not TV or TV contract money etc etc. We could compete. That's all I care about.

  • Again, the AAC may be the prettiest turd of the non AQ, but who the hell cares. Just win CUSA and all will be fine.

  • It seems we can't not bring in someone or something outside of Marshall as a comparison. What's the point. Why care about the AAC. If we had been offered we would have jumped at it....like ECU did. Friday's game was the best we have played since the Snyder hire derailed an entire decade. We looked like some of the best defensive teams Marshall has ever had. It was exciting to watch and as the game went on, there was a reality that this was not going to go south. The "D" was exceptional in ways we have not seen in years and years. The running game was what we have unfortunately had to watch other teams do to us. We looked, in a word, unstoppable. A long deserved reward to the fans. Having said all that, I really could not care less about UCF, AAC, WVU, who is the real best team in North Carolina, etc.

We are Marshall and we forge our own destiny. It was internal blunders that created our long suffering downfall and it will be internal successes that will lead us back. No other program or conference is relevant to our success or failure. I wish ECU well. They have been far more friend to MU than not. If we ever get an invite to AAC, I would put $100 against anyone's $1 that we would take that offer and leave CUSA as quick as the others did.

But, we are in the CUSA so all I care about for now is that we take care of business and start dominating CUSA like we used to do to the MAC. The rest would take care of itself.
