"They both have three years left on their contracts," said Hamrick.

That should put any conjecture over coaches being on hot seats or talk of buying out contracts to rest.

Neither Herrion nor Holliday are going anywhere.

  • I am as true to MU as anyone can be and I also hopefully can understand reality from fiction.  I do believe Doc is safe if he wins 7 regular season games but I also believe he will be let go if only wins 6.

My minimum at the beginning of the season was 8 without jumping on the fire Doc bandwagon so he still has one bogey left in him.

  • Doc isn't going anywhere people.  We'll win 7 or 6 or 5, but either way he aint going to be fired.

  • Great! Just great.  If Chuck's information is accurate, this type of reward system is incomprehensible.  In my world, Herrion should and and would have been gone last year.  But since that ship has sailed, this year it would take be a minimum of 60 percent wins during the season, two conference tournament victories to hang around for another campaign and that improvement on the floor passes the eye test.  Anything less and he's in a "gots-to-go" situation.  With Doc, this would be his watershed year and given the schedule, 8-4 is the low end of the bar that should have been required with a bowl win.  Also, style points matter as well.

I'm a big fan of my alma mater, but in the case of the athletic department, it doesn't operate like the business it is when it comes to personnel management.  As of right now, I'm emotionally withdrawn from both sports and any success from this day forward will be a total, but pleasant surprise.  However, I have no expectations.

  • looks like a 6-6 season right now. We have two more road games. That's two losses. And we'll surely lose another at home, likely ECU where we'll once again get "schooled".

    Go HERD!!!

  • The administration expects to win and says they want to win but how can that be true when you are keeping coaches well past the time they should have been fired?  Any other decent sized program in the country would have fired Snyder and Doc much sooner. Doc has his guys and this is year 4. With the watered down schedule and the talent we have, there is no reason we should not run away with CUSA this year with no real threat. Especially considering the offense we had last year. You can't expect a program to win if you don't give them a coach that can win and make good in-game decisions.

  • On the plus side, with Doc as coach, Hamrick isn't going to get to take anyone's seats away from them next year. :P

Well by MU statistics and historical standards, not to mention how the state of WVU, not West Va. has absolutely taken every penny they can find to Morgantown so WVU can play Texas and Baylor, I am surprised there is any University to still exist for the true WV.....not to mention Beckley, Huntington, Wayne, Williamson, Hamlin, Boone co.,etc., not to mention our kindred from the Ky and the Ohio areas

  • Yes

But that wasn't going to be big deal for FB seats anyway.  It's really about west lot passes and lower bowl center section bball tix.  Those spots are the only place our demand exceeds supply

  • I'm not on the fire Doc band wagon yet, but I'm close to hopping on. I'm walking beside of it just waiting for another reason lol.

I think Doc at least deserves 1 more year. I think he deserves to have Cato as a senior for the chance to keep his job. That is assuming we win at least 7 regular season games. A winning season would be improvement. Not saying I'd be happy about it, but over the last decade I was begging for a winning season.....heck nevermind, I still am!

Maybe, just maybe Mike Hamrick has a closer look at the possibilities of losing the current coaches?..

We can debate basketball.. But FB?.?

Let's enjoy the victory and see if we can win in Texas
