  • August 30 in Oxford...September 13 in Akron...two very drivable games against bad teams that don't draw well...I recall being amongst about 4,000 Herd fans in a crowd of 12,000 at Kent in '99, and I was there in '97 and '99 when we brought 5,000-8,000 both years to Miami...what if we could convince 8,000-10,000 (or more) fans to TAKE over both venues and actually be the MAJORITY fan base???...that, along with the home games vs. O.U. and (perhaps) a FCS team would quite possibly set us up for a 4-0 start and get the bandwagon cranked up into C-USA...somehow, we need to get the ball rolling now, while the fire is hot...if we could take 15,000 to Clemson in '99 and 10,000 to OSU in '04 we can do it now...call it the Cato for Heisman Victory Tour...

  • I'm going to forewarn everyone now - Don't sleep on Akron!  Bowden turned a corner with them this year, and they look to be a competitive team next year.  Herd should still win, but lost to an OU team we also should have beaten this year.  I wouldn't be surprised if Akron is a huge factor in the MAC East next year.

    Miami, on the other hand...

  • Akron may win, but there won't be 10,000 actual living, breathing Zips fans in their stadium unless there's another free admission-for-canned-corn promotion...
