Shaw and Bison, you both make very good points. But you cannot discount the fact that Bobby was handed a championship team of a VERY high caliber. Yes, 2009 was better than other Snyder teams, but top to bottom, there were bad...and left the cupboard bare.
Bob Pruett will never be equaled by Doc because of 1 undefeated season. When Doc wins 5 conference titles, 2 undefeated seasons, and 5 straight bowl wins, we will talk. That is that. Pruett was the best game and situational coach we will ever have. Period. He made adjustments anf played the talent on the field to their maximum potential. We should have beaten OSU even with Pruett. He out coached tressel, just came up short. And damn nugent....
anyway, Not taking away from Doc by being objective in what he has accomplished so far. I am a fan of Doc, he has done a great job overall.
Doc has done great at recruiting, discipline and developing these kids off the field, building a complete team, and put us back over 10 wins and has beaten 2 BCS opponents in louisville and maryland. Should have beaten va tech as well. And he has built an amazing staff, heater is a huge get.
What he does poorly, in game adjustments and taking control when needed (not switching our defense up after mtsu rammed it down our throats. We stayed in nickel, never switched to a 4-4 until it was too late as one example), and whatever he is doing, our road preparation is bad, resulting in a dismal record.
If Doc can utilize the talent and come up with a game plan and win on the road, I have 0 complaints. One can like a guy and respect what hr has done while still recognizing areas of opportunity.
