HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Three Marshall softball student-athletes were recognized by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association as all-region players, the program announced Friday.Sophomore Shaelynn Braxton (Woodbridge, Va.) earned the third-base position on the Mideast Region First Team. She is the first member of the Herd to earn first team honors since J.J. Bitner in 2009, who earned one of three outfield positions. Braxton is the second Marshall infielder all-time to earn a position on the first team, as Nichole Corrigan earned a place on the 2001 team as a second baseman.Sophomore Kaelynn Greene (Eastvale, Calif.) and freshman Morgan Zerkle (Milton, W.Va.) made the Mideast Region Second Team. Greene earned one of three outfield positions, while the rookie earned one of two designated player/utility player positions.For all three, the NFCA recognition is a first in their careers.
