  • Hmm he looks a little slow and has an unconventional shot that looks like he is partially shoving the ball. May get blocked a lot in the US.

I'm no basketball expert so I could easily be wrong, but we will all see soon enough. I really hope he can be the point guard we need.

  • Redshirt him the first year. Get him on a strength & speed program, and getting use to playing against better competition will have him ready for D1 college b-ball.

  • Pete did a lot of soul searching and in the latter part of his life became a devout Christian.  He was scheduled to go on James Dobson's radio show in California and while playing a pickup game with Dobson practically died in his arms.  If you ever get a chance check out the movie "The Pistol."  One time when a reporter ask how come Pete's man scored over 20 pts. on him, Pete looked at the reporter and said something like, He scored over 20 and I had over 40, now you tell me who played defense.

  • I noticed that too about his quickness.  I think a year on an American training table diet and proper conditioning he would become much stronger and quicker.  After all he is still just a kid.  I think he will be fine.  His game IQ seems very strong which is a big plus for this team.  Bring On The Herd!

  • I will trust DD and his judgement of talent and the players for his system until he gives reason to do otherwise. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with these kids

  • Any scouting reports out there that give an indication how talented & developed Nikolic is?  If he's truly D1 talent, then he could be a program changer.  6-5 point guards with his reach don't grow on trees.

  • Very true.  Once again too many people see stars on recruiting websites and think they will be program changers.

  • We also see videos and think program changers.  The competition matters, I am going to wait and see on this kid, not sure if he will be a player or not.

I hope DD and his different approach is just what Dr ordered for us

  • the first damn thing I would like to read is that all the NCAA red tape is cleared and he will be completely eligible. I saw elsewhere that the HD finally has gotten round to doing an article...maybe some fresh news on eligibility. I too am not completely sold on his ability to jump right into the fire but I like the video.

Yeah, everyone including our own fans, think that these kids must have eligibility issues or why come to marshall?

DD will do a great job, lucky to have him.

Seeing as though he was highly sought after by the likes of Florida and Syracuse, I would say he could prosper at a school like Marshall.

  • Yes girthy that is a safe bet.  Obviously, you never know until they play D1 but I'd have to go with the schools/coaches that wanted him verses waiting for us fans to see him play to determine his ability.

As far as this Serbian kid goes,  looks like we got him more for what he can be than what he is right now.  The late growth spurt for this PG plus his measurables make him interesting.  Heck he may grow more.  I hope he is a good get and blossoms in D1 weight program and DD player development
