Marshall quarterback Kevin Anderson has decided to transfer to Fordham, the redshirt freshman confirmed Tuesday via text message. Anderson spent the 2013 season working with the scout team and was one of three quarterbacks this spring — with redshirt sophomore Gunnar Holcombe and freshman Cole Garvin — vying for the backup job behind senior Rakeem Cato.

Marshall also will welcome former James Madison quarterback Michael Birdsong as a transfer this year and has a verbal commitment from Tampa, Fla., quarterback Chase Litton for 2015. Anderson, a 6-foot-2, 212-pound Boca Raton, Fla., native was a two-star recruit out of Boca Raton High according to both Rivals and 247Sports.

Anderson is the second Marshall quarterback to transfer since the end of the 2013 season. Former backup Blake Frohnapfel will head to the University of Massachusetts for 2014 as a graduate transfer.
