I think the bridge between the last two previous posts are the answer, reduce the number of independent institutions, but not the locations. With the increased capability for creative and strategic thinking that can be done across miles via the internet and new processes, we don't need 14 presidents, vice presidents out the ying-yang, and directors for everything from sustainability to buildings and grounds.
Actually WV could become a world class leader in higher education learning practices and location management if it wanted to. Both Presidents are forward thinkers who've seen much success and experienced some failures. It would be great to be know for leading the nation in value of education creation per dollar spent by students.
