HUNTINGTON -- Maybe Devon Johnson runs up the middle should be called "the Moses play."

Marshall University's offensive line spread the Florida Atlantic defense Saturday in a scene reminiscent of Moses parting the Red Sea. The result was Johnson (6-foot-1, 243 pounds) setting a school rushing record with 272 yards on 24 carries as the 23rd-ranked Thundering Herd rallied to defeat the Owls, 35-16, in Joan C. Edwards Stadium. Johnson scored four touchdowns.

Johnson broke the rushing record of 262 yards set in 1988 by Rob Darby at Western Carolina. The 5-8, 170-pound Darby carried 47 times in the Herd's 52-45 victory.
